Novate Legal Search is a recruitment firm specializing in placing highly skilled Attorneys and Staff in Law firms and Corporate Legal Departments across the US on both a permanent and contract basis.

📋 Description

• Advise and represent employers and/or employees in employment-law matters • Handle wage-and-hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, workplace accommodations, employment contracts, and other California employment-law issues • Advise clients on federal, California, and local employment laws and regulations • Represent clients in employment litigation, administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations • Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, employee handbooks, policies, and other employment-related documents • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents • Handle depositions, hearings, settlement conferences, and trial preparation • Investigate workplace complaints involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage violations, and wrongful termination • Counsel clients regarding hiring, termination, leave, accommodations, discipline, workplace policies, and employee relations • Monitor changes in California and federal employment law and advise clients regarding compliance • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, agencies, and other stakeholders • Manage caseloads, deadlines, budgets, and client relationships

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school • Active California State Bar license and good standing • Experience practicing employment law, preferably in California • Strong knowledge of California employment laws, including wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leave, and wrongful termination laws • Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills • Strong organizational and case-management abilities • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently
