📋 Description

• Provide clinical support to OHSU Pharmacy Benefit Management Services • Manage formularies, including adjudication, formulary decision-making, and benefit determination • Respond to and resolve clinical inquiries from members, clients, providers, and pharmacies regarding formulary options, therapeutic alternatives, and coverage determinations • Complete member prior authorization requests in collaboration with PBM Pharmacy Technicians • Coordinate with the pharmacy claims processor to implement formularies, clinical edits, and plan designs according to requirements • Develop and present drug monographs, executive summaries, therapeutic class reviews, and medication policies to Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees • Use claims data to evaluate benefit design for inappropriate utilization and opportunities to improve outcomes and optimize drug spend • Work amid competing demands and frequent interruptions from PBM Technicians, clients, members, and other healthcare professionals

🎯 Requirements

• Current Pharmacist’s license issued by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy • Training or experience in a specialized area may be required at time of recruitment • Knowledge of drug therapy, including dosage, indications, and side effects • Knowledge of contemporary medication use systems • Ability to provide drug information through written and verbal consults and monographs • Interpersonal communication skills • Excellent organizational skills • Supervisory concepts for indirect reports • Problem-solving skills • Preferred: B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D. • Preferred: Pharmacy practice residency or three years equivalent work experience • Preferred: 2 or more years in a managed care, health plan, or pharmacy benefit management setting • Preferred: PBM operational experience • Preferred: Specialty pharmacy practice • Preferred: Pharmacy benefit design • Preferred: Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee participation • Preferred: Medication policy development • Preferred: Pipeline development • Preferred: Project management skills • Must pass a drug test
