• Provide analytical and data driven recommendations to Value Analysis Committees regarding cost savings, product/service standardization, quality improvement, or operational efficiencies • Work with sourcing/contracting to achieve best value for OHSU • Document savings generated from cost savings initiatives • Participate in achieving the annual healthcare savings goal of approximately $5,000,000 per fiscal year • Act as liaison between Logistics, OHSU departments, vendors, senior administration, and Group Purchasing Organization • Manage Value Analysis Committee meetings and communications for established commodity groups • Represent Logistics on decision-making, planning, and investigative committees as needed • Monitor markets and analyze opportunities involving cost savings, standardization, quality improvement, and operational efficiencies • Understand the Group Purchasing Organization contract portfolio and program offerings • Lead and coordinate product conversions using project management tools • Screen, analyze, and process new product requests submitted to Value Analysis Committees • Assess sourcing and purchase options for new product requests • Lead departmental utilization initiatives and partner with OHSU teams on business goals and user needs • Develop and lead end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery • Communicate project risks, progress, launches, and retrospectives across stakeholders • Define common processes and create change management and communication plans
• Five (5) years of progressive responsibility in purchasing or contracting with project management experience, or clinical setting with demonstrated medical product proficiency or medical product selection • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nursing, or another field related to the position OR three (3) additional years of relevant experience • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with OHSU staff and vendors, including negotiation, internal program sales, and committee management • Analytical skills for problem solving, contract analysis, financial analysis, and contract development • Thorough understanding of medical terminology and medical supply product knowledge • Thorough understanding of spreadsheet and database systems • Strong negotiation skills • Clinical and/or analytics experience preferred • Program or project management experience preferred • Knowledge of contracts and specifications for complex medical, scientific, and highly technical products • Thorough understanding of the medical vendor community and Group Purchasing Organizations • Thorough understanding of project management techniques
