• Respond to reported concerns and support investigation processes • Provide consultation, facilitation, and guidance on employment and labor relations matters • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive issues • Resolve complex employee and labor relations issues involving conflicts, attendance, code of conduct, performance, and other concerns • Partner with HR, Legal, OCIC, Integrity, and Public Safety experts • Manage cases and documentation in the employee relations system • Lead ACC Partners/Coordinator by monitoring caseload, identifying education needs, developing and modifying processes and procedures, assessing cases, serving as a resource, and providing performance feedback • Conduct investigations for higher levels of leadership across the organization • Complete department projects related to organizational initiatives • Attend grievance meetings and provide guidance and recommendations for grievance responses • Consult with Labor Relations on complex grievances and difficult cases • Interpret and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, employee and labor relations, performance management, conflict resolution, discipline, grievances, arbitrations, and related services • Build collaborative relationships and provide service to each mission • Apply diversity, equity, and inclusion principles to identify trends, design interventions, and improve Employee Relations strategies • Coordinate with OCIC and Occupational Health on reasonable accommodations • Recommend and draft policies, procedures, and bargaining concepts • Participate in collective bargaining as directed by the labor relations team
• Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field, and/or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training • 5 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations in a respectful and professional manner while upholding OHSU values, procedures, and documentation standards • Expert-level knowledge and application of federal, state, and local employment laws • Ability to lead and develop a small team of HR professionals • Ability to guide leaders on employee relations decisions aligned with organizational policies, procedures, and legal obligations • Willingness and ability to provide training to leaders • Effective conflict resolution skills and ability to navigate sensitive, emotional, and/or difficult situations with empathy • Ability to draft concise and factually accurate reports and documents • Knowledge of investigatory best practices and ability to understand how perspectives, experiences, and cultures affect situations and investigations • Ability to develop an equitable and inclusive workplace • Experience working in a unionized healthcare or education environment, preferred • Master’s degree in related field, preferred
