đź“‹ Description

• Prepare and develop distribution voltage construction packages for overhead and underground projects • Design distribution lines from 2.4kV to 34kV • Work with Designers and Engineers to prepare new drawings, modify existing drawings, and create as-built documents • Assist with proposals, engineering/project cost estimates, and execution schedules • Provide technical support for customers and support regional business development initiatives • Perform quality reviews and adhere to QA/QC processes • Prepare calculations and assist with equipment specifications • Evaluate equipment loading, including transformers and structural loading of poles, for safe, reliable, cost-effective designs • Identify, inspect, and record field equipment and construction situations, including rights-of-way • Apply NESC, client, federal, state, and local standards to engineering designs • Analyze field-collected data and imagery and update applicable software for design implementation • Use client proprietary software and equipment in the engineering design workflow and facilitate attachment permitting • Complete assigned work within project schedules and budgets while communicating status to management • Communicate with clients to determine cost-effective project solutions • Provide documentation and support to accounting functions for project tracking and budgeting • Transcribe notes and use measuring devices to organize field data • Work in residential, commercial, and industrial areas and in all weather conditions as needed • Attend meetings at client sites and interact with the general public, including landowners and operators

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year ABET accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering; preferably electrical • Experience or basic knowledge of concepts in the electric utility industry, including primary and secondary distribution systems and utility standards • Successful completion of the Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred • Have or be willing to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred • Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills • Ability to prioritize work on multiple projects and effectively communicate project status • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, distribution design, GIS, and business enterprise software • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Reasoning skills and ability to solve practical problems • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/schematics • Working knowledge of electrical distribution assets and/or communication equipment construction preferred • Experience in pole loading software such as Spida Calc, O-Calc, Pole Foreman, or Katapult, or other construction modeling software such as AutoCAD beneficial • Knowledge of utility or joint-use software such as SPANS, NJUNS, or IkeGPS beneficial • Familiarity with design and checking practices for engineering drawings and deliverables • Familiarity with safe work practices and PPE applications • Dependable transportation and a valid driver's license with insurance • Ability to pass a fit for duty test • Ability to work from home and an office setting, as required • Ability to pass a post-offer drug and alcohol test, including marijuana, in compliance with Federal regulations • Subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment • Willingness to travel overnight or for extended periods based on project assignment • U.S.-based work authorization/location requirement
