📋 Description

• Provide technical support and direction for the Substation Design Team • Lead and oversee substation civil site grading engineering and consulting services for clients across the US • Create site grading design deliverables and review drawing packages • Establish site grading department engineering standards • Accelerate engineering delivery through automation • Support project bidding estimates, proposals, and scope development • Prepare, guide, and assist with engineering deliverables for electric substation projects • Lead and mentor engineers and designers • Perform civil design calculations and prepare earthwork, surfacing, drainage, and site work specifications • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for site drainage, detention/retention, culverts, ditches, and floodplains • Prepare and support permitting deliverables and respond to jurisdictional review comments • Coordinate geotechnical, survey, topographic, and multidisciplinary design activities • Act as project lead or independent reviewer • Provide client technical support and support regional business development • Establish and improve engineering standards, calculation templates, design criteria, drawing templates, review procedures, and quality expectations • Develop and champion engineering processes, tools, technology, and design automation workflows • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring • Meet and correspond with clients, agencies, and external partners • Perform quality reviews for engineers and designers • Conduct field visits for site walkdowns, constructability reviews, construction support, and site meetings • Provide construction phase support, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, field change coordination, and record drawings • Coordinate with project management on project plans and updates • Support business development and marketing initiatives • Participate in project conceptualization, work planning, execution, and technical committees

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university, or a related field with equivalent experience • Engineer IV: 5+ years related experience • Senior Engineer I: 7+ years related experience and PE required • Senior Engineer II: 10+ years related experience and PE required • Senior Engineer III: 15+ years related experience and PE required • Professional Engineer licensure strongly preferred • Proficiency with relevant codes and standards • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D for surface modeling, grading design, corridor and road modeling, pipe networks, earthwork volume calculation, and civil design deliverables • Experience with substation civil/site design, including grading, earthwork, stormwater management, drainage, erosion and sediment control, roads, retaining walls, oil containment, site layout, and quantity takeoffs • Experience preparing and reviewing civil design deliverables • Experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses • Experience preparing permitting deliverables, including NPDES/SWPPP and local grading and stormwater permits • Experience coordinating with geotechnical engineers, survey teams, and other disciplines • Demonstrated interest in design automation, parametric modeling, scripting, data-driven quality checks, or workflow optimization • Ability to organize multiple complex assignments and competing priorities • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional work teams • Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills • Successful record of positive interactions with clients • Ability to lead staff, delegate assignments, and drive positive results • Experience creating and reviewing site grading design drawings • Ability to work successfully with remotely located team members • Ability to pass a post-offer drug and alcohol test, including marijuana, and participate in random testing
