• Function as overall Site Manager during the Site Manager's off rotation • Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval • Assist with developing and managing project schedules • Prepare self-performed work estimates and assist with complete project estimates • Function as Site Manager for small projects under $5 million when applicable • Manage multiple divisions of work and all construction means and methods • Solicit subcontractor, vendor, and supplier prices; assist with bidder selection, negotiations, subcontracts, and purchase orders • Prepare cost-to-complete, monthly billing, status, and progress-tracking reports • Review and maintain current architectural, structural, shop, and other drawings • Study specifications and plan construction procedures, schedules, staffing, and phases • Assist with identifying staffing needs and selecting subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers • Assist with pricing work, drafting changes and change orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction • Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up through completion • Schedule subcontractors; determine materials, equipment, tools, and supply sources • Set up and close out construction sites • Establish and maintain company and industry safety and quality standards • Serve as on-site safety lead when one is not assigned; stop work, discipline team members, and remove team members or subcontractors when necessary • Make immediate safety and quality decisions and resolve issues while considering financial impact • Procure tools and materials for delivery according to work schedules • Direct supervisors and subcontractors in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating construction phases • Resolve workforce complaints and grievances • Review progress, materials, and cost reports and adjust schedules accordingly • Provide expert advice for assigned divisions of work • Meet with customers and refer requested changes to the Site Manager and Project Manager • Work with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors • Ensure required inspections and documentation are completed • Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray's on-site safety program • Train, assign, direct, reward, and discipline team members; address complaints and resolve problems
• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of three years of construction experience OR a minimum five years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree • Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired, specifically within the food and beverage market • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents • Strong people management skills • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones • MS Project and other scheduling software a plus • Strong work ethic; energetic, self-motivated, and collaborative • Ability to think independently and manage without direction • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S. • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including frequently lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs • Ability to work in wet/humid conditions, around moving mechanical parts, outside weather, heights, fumes, extreme temperatures, electrical risks, explosives, vibration, and moderate to loud noise • Ability to manage multiple subordinate team members and indirectly manage subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers
