📋 Description

• Support and/or lead the design, installation and commissioning of manufacturing lines focused on consumer-product packaging operations • Serve as a packaging-team member on complex, fully integrated projects across FEL/FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning Support phases • Support the technical lead in packaging systems design and integration, including line and equipment speed analysis, pack-out matrices, block flow and general arrangement layouts, equipment lists, utility demand matrices and procurement specifications/approvals • Prepare equipment lists, data sheets, block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams and P&IDs • Develop alternatives to improve efficiency and provide independent engineering judgment • Lead scope-of-work development and generate task estimates and small proposals within area of expertise • Support sales and business-development initiatives • Develop written sequence-of-operation narratives for equipment, systems and process controls • Assist with vendor and contractor bid and construction packages and bid analysis • Travel regularly for projects, customers, annual company meetings and training; average travel is 20%–40%, with project travel varying by phase • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, industrial or packaging systems engineering; an emphasis on packaging systems is preferred • 5+ years of demonstrated professional work experience in Packaging Equipment Systems Engineering or a related field • Experience with professional engineering service providers and/or manufacturing in food and beverage, life sciences, CPG, pharmaceuticals or related fields is a plus • Effective oral and written communication skills are required • Proficiency in MS Office • Advanced Excel skills are a plus • 2D CAD experience is a plus • Experience in large capital project engineering/management, specifically detailed packaging system design, preferably for food and beverage processing lines or related transferable expertise • Advanced understanding of automation control systems, including PLC, HMI and VFDs, is a plus • Ability to work collaboratively across internal and external teams • Ability to independently evaluate processing operations and recommend ROI- and productivity-improving solutions • Ability to perform engineering tasks independently with minimal supervision • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role
