📋 Description

• Lead and support OPEX (Operational Excellence) initiatives for distribution operations and corresponding workstreams • Develop and lead subject matter experts to identify best-in-practice operating and job standards • Lead process improvement initiatives for large-scale and complex company business processes • Identify business improvement opportunities, develop solutions, manage initiatives, and determine required resources and disciplines • Drive operational effectiveness and efficiency improvements and cost reduction • Evaluate, prioritize, and allocate time and resources to project requests aligned with strategic operational priorities • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure business process alignment across all functional areas • Ensure process improvement efforts are disciplined, structured, and aligned with Owens & Minor strategic objectives • Establish measurement and reporting of productivity standards for operations • Monitor metrics after implementation to confirm performance against goals • Apply subject matter expertise, facilitation, and change management skills to move teams from problem identification to permanent resolution • Communicate and execute change management initiatives across the company • Mentor and coach business stakeholders through training and guidance on process improvement activities • Analyze data for trends and recommend business process improvements and solutions • Oversee development of standard operating procedures and work instructions • Lead process needs analysis and create cost-effective, efficient operational processes • Evaluate and implement innovative technology solutions • Conduct complex business process analyses • Deploy, train, and enhance Process Strategy, Value Stream, Innovation, Maintenance, Quality, and Improvement initiatives • Analyze production metrics, identify inefficiencies, and recommend productivity-enhancing solutions • Evaluate ROI for corporate business process initiatives • Lead planning, prioritization, and execution of process improvement and strategy fulfillment projects • Oversee operations projects and provide regular updates to senior leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Four-year university degree in an advanced and technically/professionally specialized discipline required • Master’s degree preferred • Industrial Engineering Professional Certification (e.g., Six Sigma Master Black Belt, LEAN, American Society for Quality, Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence certifications) strongly preferred • Minimum of ten years of experience in a business process focused role • Minimum of seven years managing teams and/or major cross-functional projects • Any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements • Knowledge equivalent to Lean Sigma Green Belt or higher • Ability to deliver process improvement initiatives across all levels of the organization • Strong conceptual and analytical skills • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve operational problems • Ability to think and communicate strategically while managing tactical details • Ability to organize and complete complex multi-year projects as part of or leader of a cross-functional team • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Working knowledge of financial analysis techniques, including cost-benefit analysis, break-even analysis, net present value, internal rate of return, and lease-versus-buy analysis • Ability to motivate and direct others and influence teammates at all levels and functions • Ability to travel up to 50%
