• Install and commission assigned microscopy systems and options according to factory specifications • Deliver user familiarization training during installations • Execute scheduled and emergency preventive and corrective maintenance • Diagnose root causes and validate repairs against performance benchmarks for spectral resolution, indexing accuracy, and detector calibration • Build customer relationships through responsive communication and hands-on technical training • Provide remote support to minimize downtime and maximize uptime • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues using specialized tools • Calibrate critical components and implement performance-enhancing upgrades • Collaborate across teams and escalate issues when needed • Maintain detailed documentation to support continuous improvement • Travel extensively to customer sites throughout North and South America
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Life Science or a related technical field • 2–4 years of field service experience in the microscopy or analytical instrumentation industry • Proficiency with digital multimeters and oscilloscopes • Strong interest in computer hardware architecture and system components • Familiarity with configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting Windows • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and system integration schematics • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record • Passport and ability to travel independently • Physical agility and comfort working in confined or awkward spaces • Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs • Availability for extensive weekday travel, Monday through Friday • Authorized to work for any employer in the US; no current employment visa sponsorship or takeover of sponsorship • Preferred: hands-on experience with AFM, SEM, fluorescence, and confocal microscopy • Preferred: calibration, optimization, and maintenance of scientific imaging systems • Preferred: configuring and troubleshooting imaging acquisition software • Preferred: strong manual dexterity and clean, organized workspace • Preferred: proactive problem-solving, continuous learning, effective communication, adaptability, and ability to work independently or in a team
