📋 Description

• Manage diverse and complex Short Term Disability claims from initial intake through resolution • Make timely, fair, and accurate decisions based on policy provisions • Collaborate with clinical and vocational partners on return-to-work strategies and benefit eligibility • Serve as a subject matter expert on Short Term Disability claim practices • Contribute to internal procedures, workflows, and system requirements • Apply disability contract provisions, exclusions, riders, waivers, and regulatory requirements • Document decisions and interactions accurately and communicate with claimants, employers, and internal stakeholders • Mentor and support onboarding of new team members • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Intake/Admin, Clinical and Vocational Services, and other business units • Identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement and enterprise initiatives • Adapt to changing priorities, business needs, and regulatory requirements • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity

🎯 Requirements

• College degree or equivalent experience preferred • Minimum 3 years of experience handling Short Term Disability claims • Strong understanding of Short Term Disability claim adjudication and relevant federal/state regulations, including FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, and ADA • Experience partnering with clinical/vocational professionals to support return-to-work efforts and complex decision-making • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage competing priorities • Proven ability to mentor peers and support a collaborative team environment • Proficiency with claims administration platforms and workflow/documentation tools • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement • Strong time management and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment • Experience supporting cross-functional or enterprise initiatives and change management efforts
