📋 Description

• Support commercial contracting and development of Payscale’s privacy, data, and AI strategy • Drive compliance with evolving global technology laws • Advise on products and business initiatives with regulatory implications • Assess customer contracts, vendor contracts, and data processing agreements for privacy risks, AI governance requirements, and third-party data-sharing restrictions • Maintain corporate policies, terms of service, and related legal documentation • Conduct risk assessments and advise on data handling for new features, integrations, and business initiatives • Support responses to data subject access requests, deletion requests, incident management, and regulatory inquiries • Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Information Security, and other teams to implement compliance-by-design principles • Monitor the regulatory landscape and advise company leaders on new developments • Help implement proactive compliance measures • Develop and deliver training for internal teams on regulatory compliance issues • Coordinate third-party due diligence with risk and governance teams

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school • Bar admission in at least one U.S. state • 3+ years of relevant experience • Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, the EU AI Act, and other U.S. and international privacy, data security, and AI laws • Experience advising SaaS, data analytics, or technology companies on regulatory compliance, especially privacy, data security, and AI • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business guidance • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally • Excellent judgment and ability to independently manage a diverse portfolio of matters • Experience with security frameworks such as SOC 2 or FedRAMP • Familiarity with technical concepts related to data security and infrastructure • Experience as in-house counsel at a growth-stage technology company • Demonstrated interest in leveraging AI tools to improve day-to-day processes • High-speed broadband or fiber internet with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps in a dedicated workspace • Device for multifactor authentication (MFA/2FA)
