📋 Description

• Oversee the month-end and quarter-end close process • Serve as one of the primary liaisons with external auditors • Manage and mentor the accounting team • Elevate close ownership across staff and senior accountants while stepping in on complex areas • Evaluate, develop, and strengthen department controls, systems, and procedures • Conduct technical accounting research and document findings • Resolve complex business and technical issues and prepare supporting memorandums • Partner with the Controller on financial reporting, audit readiness, and accounting policy across all entities • Implement technology and process improvements for new business initiatives and a faster, cleaner financial close • Lead projects contributing to close efficiency and financial system optimization • Manage and monitor accounting systems, including NetSuite • Ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting policies, and regulatory standards • Hire, train, motivate, and develop team members • Supervise and delegate department work

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • 5-7 years of relevant experience • Minimum of 2 years of experience at a public accounting firm • Proficiency in researching technical accounting matters and preparing memorandums • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, including software development and ASC 606 • Experience in process optimization, simplification, and standardization • Familiarity with ERP solutions and financial systems; experience with NetSuite preferred • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Effective leadership and personnel management skills • Advanced degree or CPA certification • Experience working in a high-growth startup is nice to have • Ability to work effectively in remote environments is nice to have • Experience managing large transactional data sets for accuracy and completeness is nice to have • Experience with intercompany accounting for multiple entities is nice to have • Familiarity with multi-currency translations is nice to have • US work authorization required • Must not require sponsorship now or in the future
