• Provide academic support through phone calls, LibCal appointments, email, and case/ticket systems • Develop, assess, update, and facilitate live weekly course-specific webinars • Respond to learner questions through webinar chat • Own assigned courses within the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program • Maintain curriculum updates, course revisions, course reviews, and course quality assurance initiatives • Collaborate with Product Design teams on course revisions under Program Director direction • Evaluate written examinations and provide feedback on subjective examinations and projects • Evaluate Penn Foster and Ashworth student externship skill submissions as needed • Support Ashworth Veterinary Academy students through emails, tickets, and LibCal phone appointments • Submit instructional and program improvement recommendations based on course feedback, student outcomes, and professional expertise • Support initiatives to reduce attrition and improve student progression • Collaborate on new instructional delivery methods • Assist with and monitor social media activity when warranted • Attend department meetings • Support onboarding and training of new instructors • Complete required professional development and training • Maintain active status for required professional licenses and credentials • Participate in accreditation-related activities • Provide instructional, externship evaluation, and site approval backup coverage • Perform additional instructional and student support duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field • Credentialed Veterinary Technician who graduated from an AVMA-accredited program • Minimum of three years of clinical experience • Current license in good standing with the applicable state licensing board • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact supportively with students, alumni, team members, and employers • Ability to think quickly and communicate effectively and efficiently • Excellent presentation skills • Excellent time-management skills • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and learning management systems • Strong understanding of applying technology to new instructional methods • Sound judgment when initiating actions and making decisions within established precedents or well-defined policies • Ability to contribute to a supportive and collaborative team culture • Knowledge of and ability to facilitate learning related to veterinary technology course content • Willingness and ability to travel as needed • Must reside and perform work within the United States • Previous teaching experience in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program (preferred) • Experience with CVTEA requirements (preferred)
