📋 Description

• Support installed and un-installed engine performance and operability analysis and reporting • Provide engine performance and operability programmatic support within the Naval Air Warfare Center, Air Systems Group, Propulsion and Power organization • Participate in aircraft platform and/or engine team meetings and critical project milestone events • Ensure projects meet expectations, are delivered on time, and align with Engine Management Plan goals • Provide technical assessments covering issues, root-cause status, program risks, and mitigation recommendations • Execute installed or un-installed engine performance models • Assess data and provide performance model data reports according to customer requirements and standard work processes • Communicate, present, and write technical content regarding ongoing issues • Provide technical recommendations to team leaders, systems engineers, business development engineers, and the branch manager • Train and mentor ESDP and junior engineers

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of a BS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering • 16 years of experience with aircraft or weapon system gas turbine engine performance and/or operability • Advanced degree (MS and/or PhD) preferred • Experience with gas turbine engine design and operation, including performance models • Basic programming skills in NPSS, C++, Python, or MATLAB • Ability to conduct engine performance and operability technical assessments, including specification of airworthiness products and processes • Understanding of engine operability, control, and transient performance assessment • Understanding of engine ground and altitude test performance assessment and flight test performance principles • Secret security clearance • Must write and speak well in English • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools • Desired but not required: experience developing in-house gas turbine engine performance models • Desired but not required: intermediate programming skills in NPSS, C++, Python, or MATLAB • Desired but not required: experience with engine operability analysis and engine stability assessment • Desired but not required: experience assessing inlets and exhaust nozzles, propeller performance, and wind tunnel testing • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
