📋 Description

• Lead Ascent Geomatics Solutions’ field and office survey team for the DJ Basin oil and gas program • Own the survey phase of assigned projects and report to the Director of Survey • Develop survey work plans, assign resources across concurrent projects, and adjust priorities as conditions change • Define survey scope, deliverables, effort estimates, assumptions, milestones, tasks, owners, and dependencies with Project Managers • Balance field crews, office survey technicians, equipment, and review capacity across assignments • Guide coordinators and supervisors in daily scheduling and task management • Manage survey work from research and field preparation through collection, processing, and CAD drafting • Coordinate boundary, topographic, route, construction staking, as-built, ALTA/NSPS, well location certificate, right-of-way, aerial mapping, and LiDAR survey deliverables • Build QA/QC and PLS/RPLS review into schedules and ensure comments are resolved • Sign and seal survey deliverables when appropriately licensed and assigned • Confirm field readiness, access, equipment, safety, and execution with field leadership and Safety and Fleet support • Review hours, utilization, completed work, remaining effort, variances, forecasts, scope changes, delays, and rework • Own delivery problems and recovery plans through resolution • Coach field and office staff and assigned supervisors • Conduct 1:1 meetings and performance evaluations for direct reports • Lead staffing, hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management with HR and leadership • Oversee department capacity, coverage, compliance, and personnel actions within delegated authority • Recommend and implement approved equipment or workflow improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Substantial progressive land surveying experience with demonstrated understanding of field and office operations • At least five years of experience in project, client, and staff management, including direct responsibility for leading people and coordinating survey delivery • Experience providing land surveying services for oil and gas projects, such as well sites, pipelines, or facilities • Experience managing concurrent survey assignments with PMs, including field and office workloads, effort planning, progress tracking, and resolution of delivery problems • Demonstrated ability to develop staff, improve survey workflows, and coordinate technical decisions and deliverable reviews with designated PLS/RPLS staff • Remote employees must be based in and perform work within the United States • Authorized to work in the United States and able to work within continental U.S. time zones • Reliable internet access and a designated, quiet workspace • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods • Ability to review detailed drawings, maps, technical documentation, spreadsheets, and other role-specific materials for extended periods • Active Colorado Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure preferred, but not required • Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred • Advanced capability with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS platforms, or survey databases preferred • Familiarity with photogrammetry, aerial or terrestrial LiDAR, and survey workflow integration preferred • Familiarity with Colorado upstream development and survey information supporting ECMC and local permitting preferred
