📋 Description

• Lead discovery interviews and workshops across programs, offices, and bureaus • Map end-to-end current-state workflows and identify root causes of delays, handoff failures, duplicate work, and manual controls • Analyze process data with Python and SQL to establish performance baselines, investigate bottlenecks, and validate redesigned workflows • Design future-state workflows that simplify work, streamline approvals, clarify roles, reduce manual effort, and establish a foundation for technology • Identify dependencies, integration points, data needs, operational constraints, and automation opportunities • Translate findings into actionable requirements and recommendations for digital forms, Power Platform, and AI-enabled capabilities • Develop and review SOPs, workflow diagrams, RACI matrices, templates, job aids, and implementation materials • Lead pilots and process validation using cycle time, error frequency, workload, and user feedback measures • Refine redesigned processes based on evidence • Provide day-to-day direction and quality review for analysts • Partner with the Program Manager, Lead Business Analyst, solution-design staff, and technical team • Organize and support the Department of the Interior modernization portfolio

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience in business process reengineering, process improvement, management consulting, or related transformation work • Hands-on proficiency in Python for data preparation and analysis • Proficiency in SQL for querying, joining, and validating data • Experience leading large-scale process or operating-model transformation spanning multiple functions, systems, integration points, or stakeholder groups • Experience leading discovery workshops and producing current-state and future-state process designs, including root-cause analysis and implementation-ready documentation • Experience translating process findings into requirements and recommendations for technology-enabled change while remaining personally involved in analysis and deliverables • Must successfully complete the background investigation, suitability, credentialing, and system-access requirements applicable to a Moderate Risk Public Trust position • Experience leading enterprise transformation for a federal department or agency • Management consulting, federal advisory, or professional-services experience in ambiguous, high-change environments • Hands-on use of generative AI or LLM tools for research, analysis, workflow redesign, prototyping, or process improvement • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft 365/SharePoint, data and API concepts, or other workflow-modernization technologies • Lean Six Sigma or comparable process-improvement training or certification
