📋 Description
• Review, analyze, and code documentation for hospital inpatient medical records • Select and sequence appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes • Select and sequence appropriate ICD-9-CM procedure codes • Apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes as applicable to the transition to ICD-10 • Maintain primary responsibility for inpatient coding
🎯 Requirements
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required • 1 year of hospital coding experience required • One or more of the following certifications required upon hire: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, or CPC-H • Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) preferred • Experience coding at a multi-hospital organization preferred • Remote coding experience preferred
