📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in TypeScript and Node.js • Design and evolve PostgreSQL relational database schemas • Migrate data from a legacy system into a standardized model • Build and consume event-driven integrations over a message broker • Partner with product and engineering leads to turn requirements into estimable, deliverable work • Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests • Keep CI/CD pipelines healthy • Review code and mentor and support other engineers • Troubleshoot production issues and turn incidents into permanent fixes • Document systems so others can run and extend them • Help replace the legacy platform supporting scheduling, billing, and file workflows without disrupting users

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years building and running backend services • Production backend experience, including ownership of services from design to production, API contract changes, or diagnosing performance/reliability problems • Hands-on experience with relational databases • Strong data modeling experience, including schema design or reshaping and data migration planning and verification • Delivery habits: testing work, making small reviewed changes, and shipping regularly • Clear written and verbal communication • A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience • Preferred: TypeScript and Node.js on a service framework such as NestJS • Preferred: Event-driven architecture with RabbitMQ or a similar broker • Preferred: AWS, including data migration services, serverless, and monitoring • Preferred: Infrastructure as code with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines • Preferred: Trunk-based development, feature flags, and continuous deployment • Preferred: Replacing or migrating away from a legacy system • Preferred: GraphQL, REST, WebSockets, and API gateway products • Preferred: Agile Scrum team experience
