📋 Description

• Record and maintain accurate records of loan activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements • Compile and analyze reports related to loan transactions, assisting in daily and monthly financial reviews and closings • Make entries into the general ledger system and perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts • Collaborate closely with Operations to ensure timely processing of borrower refunds and other pertinent transactions • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to develop and maintain spreadsheet reports for management review • Apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure financial statements are prepared accurately • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with management to implement changes as needed • Undertake special projects and assignments as directed by management

🎯 Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of financial transactions and reporting • Prior experience within the mortgage industry is preferred • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and complex formulas • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to various stakeholders • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related discipline • Familiarity with accounting software such as Byte or AMB (preferred but not required) • Ability to adapt quickly to new software and systems • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
