📋 Description

• Support federal financial services clients with actuarial support for Multiemployer Special Financial Assistance services • Assess potential risks of company decisions or situations using statistics, financial theories, and mathematics • Estimate probabilities and likely costs for events such as death, natural disasters, or sickness • Calculate likely insurance policy payouts • Generate charts and present and explain information at meetings • Analyze reports and determine next steps for clients or the company • Develop client deliverables and review them for accuracy and quality • Anticipate client needs and formulate solutions • Provide coaching to junior staff • Contribute to new business proposals and proposal development • Manage personal and professional development • Support SFA implementation, reporting, monitoring, and application reviews • Assist with procedures for SFA approval requests and review plan eligibility and priority groups • Track active, completed, and in-progress SFA cases and prepare reports for stakeholders • Train PBGC staff on SFA application review • Review post-approval financial and actuarial determinations, including mergers, transfers, and withdrawal liability settlements • Monitor plans receiving SFA for compliance with conditions • Review SFA applications, actuarial valuation reports, cash flow projections, assumptions, supporting documentation, actuarial calculations, and SFA amounts • Prepare summaries, projected benefits, findings reports, and formal actuarial certifications • Provide surge, overflow, litigation, legislative analysis, training, and other assistance as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum Actuarial Qualification: EA • Minimum pension experience: 5 years • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or another business-related field • 3+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation creation, and Internet research tools • Experience identifying and validating pension plan data • Experience performing pension plan calculations • Attained or working toward actuarial credentials such as ASA, EA, or FSA • Must be able to obtain and maintain required clearance • Knowledge of statistics, probability, and calculus • Experience with computers and statistical modeling software • Knowledge of business and financial concepts • Python experience preferred • Knowledge and experience with multiemployer defined benefit plans and ERISA preferred • Experience with financial analysis, change management, restructuring actuarial analysis, and restructuring negotiations preferred • Experience with census data analysis, standard procedure documentation, and management reports tracking preferred • Experience with financial and actuarial analysis, case reporting, contribution projections, data analysis, and actuarial calculations preferred • Ability to support consultations on pension plan administration leading practices preferred • Experience working independently with minimal supervision and guidance preferred • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills preferred • Proven ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines preferred • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and succinctly preferred • U.S. Citizenship required • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe • Must qualify for Facility Access Authorization/Employment Authorization • May need to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement • Must submit to and qualify for background investigations up to Top Secret or DOE Q clearance • Other requirements and conditions of employment may apply
