📋 Description

• Lead all Advancement activities, including major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, planned giving, and donor communications • Mentor, develop, and coach Advancement team members, including in Powerful Conversations • Design and execute comprehensive fundraising campaigns from quiet phase through public launch • Build major gift pipelines, identify prospects, lead donor conversations, and personally manage key relationships and stewardship • Advise the President and Board on fundraising strategy and donor engagement • Manage relationships with internal teams to align gift processes, donor agreements, and public-facing materials • Oversee donor recognition, stewardship reporting, and gift acknowledgment processes • Ensure compliance with gift-accounting standards, laws, and regulations • Manage fundraising reports, dashboards, and presentations • Promote institution-wide understanding and engagement with fundraising priorities • Analyze giving trends and donor data to inform decision-making and long-term planning • Develop Reach University’s philanthropic engine to support access to higher education and upward mobility through workplace-based pathways

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus • 10+ years as a fundraising leader and business professional • 5+ years as a VP of Advancement/Development or Chief Development Officer for a nonprofit or higher education institution • 15+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, development, advancement, or a similar role • Strong track record of securing major and principal gifts through relational, trust-based donor engagement • Demonstrated people management skills • Strong proficiency with CRM/donor databases • Knowledge of gift-accounting principles and nonprofit fundraising regulations • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities • Ability to analyze giving data and donor pipelines • Experience optimizing advancement team structures and redesigning fundraising processes • Expertise in multi-year fundraising and campaign planning, including major capital campaigns • In-depth knowledge of gift structures, planned giving vehicles, prospect research, donor stewardship, and relational fundraising
