📋 Description

• Build novel products and features in collaboration with product, design, and engineering counterparts • Collaborate with a team of engineers and contribute to developer workflow standards and best practices • Mentor engineers and help grow their technical expertise • Own the full development cycle for major projects, including design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch • Write and review code and design documents • Provide feedback on product specifications and mocks • Ensure successful delivery of key projects • Drive planning, development, and implementation across Reddit’s backend service architecture for native mobile and web clients • Enable metrics-led execution with a focus on operational excellence and system observability • Partner with leadership and cross-functional partners to develop product and engineering roadmaps

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer developing user-facing applications • Fluency working with product metrics and designing and analyzing experiments, with exposure to tools like BigQuery, HEX, and Firebase • Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, or C# • Experience leveraging GenAI tools to increase software engineering productivity • Experience working with ML engineering teams and integrating ML solutions is a plus • Strong organizational skills and ability to break down and prioritize tasks while keeping projects on schedule • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience • Strong focus on user experience and usability; experience with social is a huge plus • Self-directed, innovative, and action-oriented • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fully remote environment with technical and non-technical audiences
