📋 Description

• Solve large-scale streaming infrastructure and distributed messaging infrastructure problems • Partner with the team and major users such as ML, AI, and Search to build scalable technical solutions • Maintain high availability and reliability across Reddit’s product portfolio • Contribute to the team and organization’s long-term technical strategy • Refine and maintain messaging infrastructure supporting asynchronous communication for services serving hundreds of millions of users • Own managed and self-hosted infrastructure supporting produce and consume requests • Develop tooling and automation to operate infrastructure efficiently • Implement features, optimizations, and bug fixes for distributed messaging systems

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably focused on machine learning storage infrastructure • Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages: Golang, Python, C++, or Java • Experience working with Kafka and Kubernetes • Strimzi experience is a plus • Hands-on experience implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes for distributed messaging systems • Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineering, data science, machine learning, and product stakeholders
