📋 Description

• Partner with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and Client Engineers to translate business and user needs into reliable, low-latency technical solutions • Own the full software lifecycle for major product initiatives, from technical design documents and API contracts through development, testing, rollout, and observability • Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments using tools such as BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase • Analyze user behavior, conversion funnels, and retention loops to make data-backed engineering decisions • Build and maintain scalable GraphQL, REST, and gRPC APIs and distributed backend services • Establish engineering best practices and improve developer workflows • Mentor, coach, and collaborate with technical contributors • Select, scope, and drive high-leverage projects aligned with Reddit’s goals • Develop performant, scalable, and high-quality architecture around authentication, authorization, and identity • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Reddit Engineering • Learn and improve technical and non-technical abilities

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably with a focus on distributed systems infrastructure or infrastructure security • Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages: Golang, Python, C++, or Java • Experience with essential cloud infrastructure: Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, and GCP • Hands-on experience implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes to distributed messaging systems • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product • Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field
