📋 Description

• Serve as subject matter expert for a team of software engineers • Write code on complex systems and applications • Provide direction on project plans, schedules, and methodologies • Serve as the initial escalation point for software development issues • Write and review detailed specifications for system components • Complete complex bug fixes • Translate product requirements into software designs • Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews • Collaborate with stakeholders across Agile, Waterfall, and other development environments • Resolve complex technical issues • Mentor and train entry-level software engineers • Monitor new technology developments • Design and work with complex data models • Interview, hire, train, assign, direct, and appraise employees • Reward and discipline employees and resolve complaints • Provide staff with training, resources, feedback, and coaching • Encourage innovation and empower staff accountability

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience • Bachelors of science in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall • Strong experience with Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation resource models • Strong knowledge of industry best practices in external resource development • Ability to partner with and lead internal and external technology resources • Test-driven development and strong research skills • Strong proficiency with data manipulation language, including optimization techniques • Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles • Ability to design and work with complex data models • Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems • Expertise in Java, Python, XML, Linux/UNIX, SQL, and scripting languages • Strong knowledge of development best practices • Knowledge of applicable tool sets • Ability to write and review detailed technical specifications • Strong business objective-setting, direct management, organization, project planning, time management, change management, and delegation skills • Strong problem-solving experience leading teams through complex technical issues • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, interpersonal, and presentation skills • Experience with AI/ML/DL-based systems and Generative AI • Willingness to learn proprietary abstractions over AI tools • Very strong cloud toolchain experience, ideally AWS and Azure • Extremely strong enterprise Java experience, ideally with polyglot development including Python • API-first development experience • Exposure to agentic patterns is a plus • Ability to build high-performing Agile teams • Strong hands-on engineering skills
