📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction and oversight of RLF’s grants management function processing approximately 1,000 outgoing grants and contracts totaling about $90 million annually • Design and implement best practices, policies, and procedures for outgoing funds across RLF entities, fiscally sponsored projects, and donor advised funds • Lead a grants management team of approximately 20 staff • Champion grantmaking best practices and process improvements • Serve as subject matter expert for grant and contract administration policies and procedures • Support staff handling outgoing grants and contracts • Develop creative, values-aligned solutions to grants management questions • Elevate cross-programmatic and cross-divisional issues as a member of the senior Leadership Team • Identify training needs and oversee staff training on philanthropic processes and the grants management system • Oversee grants management templates, policies, procedures, and training materials • Foster a collaborative, transparent, supportive, and trusting team culture • Collaborate with in-house and outside counsel on legal compliance and risk mitigation • Partner with Finance on fiscal and audit compliance • Triage inquiries regarding compliance, due diligence, and risk mitigation • Provide strategic leadership for Salesforce related to outgoing funds processing • Support Development with incoming funds processing integration in Salesforce • Oversee system configuration, architecture, releases, upgrades, and third-party tools • Engage and direct outside consultants for technical or training needs • Coordinate with program and project staff on application content and requirements • Resolve staff and grantee feedback regarding system enhancements and bugs • Promote learning and development • Assess reporting, dashboard, and data needs and support Salesforce Analyst trainings • Provide data-driven findings for decision-making and external storytelling • Report to the Chief Finance and Administration Officer

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of 5-10 years as a Grants Management Director or otherwise demonstrated experience developing and implementing grants management strategies • Strong understanding of best practices in grantmaking • Deep and broad experience implementing grant management processes, procedures, and policies within a foundation or other grantmaking organization • Experience leading grants management systems optimizations and implementations • A minimum of 3-5 years’ direct supervisory/management experience • Experience providing oversight for grantmaking compliance • Experience overseeing complex grantmaking portfolios at multi-entity organizations strongly preferred • Ability to understand the technical aspects of database systems and help users apply systems effectively • Proven project management and change management skills • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in business terms • General computer literacy and proficiency in the Microsoft suite • Ability to learn new technology quickly and thoroughly • Strong commitment to data management and data governance practices • Strong technical skills including administration, system configuration, and maintenance of GMS and/or CRM systems • Experience with Salesforce highly preferred • Familiarity with Power BI and experience with grantee portal implementation or other major system implementations a strong plus • High degree of professionalism and accountability • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion • Strong prioritization, time management, organizational, and multitasking skills • Comfort with ambiguity and commitment to RLF’s mission, grantees, fiscally sponsored projects, and funder clients • Resume and cover letter required • U.S. travel as needed, at a minimum quarterly
