📋 Description

• Develop and drive organizational strategy with the Executive Director • Serve as the Executive Director’s primary thought partner on organizational strategy, programs, operations, team management, growth, and brand • Lead development, rollout, and evaluation of the multi-year organizational strategic vision • Lead the Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team, and staff through annual goal-setting and execution • Establish department-level goals and conduct periodic progress reviews • Manage the Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team day to day • Lead executive and senior leadership meetings and retreats • Oversee all-staff and all-leadership gatherings • Represent or staff the Executive Director in internal settings • Lead internal communications related to organizational effectiveness • Manage board meetings, committee meetings, briefings, and strategic board materials • Direct high-stakes or rapid-response special projects • Supervise the Senior Director of Finance and Development • Develop revenue diversification, fundraising, budgeting, forecasting, reserves, and investment strategies • Supervise the Director of Organizational Culture and Systems • Oversee the operations partner Seed the Dream and develop staff and consultant support systems • Lead organizational change initiatives and redesigns • Coordinate collaboration across Membership and Campaigns, Narrative, Development, Finance, and Data and Operations departments • Oversee values-aligned operational planning and execution for programs, activities, tactics, and large-scale events • Monitor legal, regulatory, administrative, security, and reputational risks • Maintain compliance with nonprofit regulatory frameworks, including 501(c)(3)/501(c)(4) rules and charitable registrations • Develop crisis-response plans and lead incident response teams • Strengthen a safe, welcoming, courageous, rigorous, and community-oriented organizational culture • Support organizational fundraising strategy • Manage organizational change during continued growth and innovation

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in the progressive, non-profit, or movement space • Well-rounded background across organizational departments • Well-developed emotional intelligence and communication skills • Critical thinker and capable, flexible, curious generalist • Experience developing and executing major, large-scale project plans involving many collaborators • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience building staff teams, management, coaching, and leadership development • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships • Ability to connect long-term organizational vision with short- and medium-term objectives • Proactive, constructive, and innovative approach to problems and solutions • Strong follow-through with principals and organizers • Passion for United We Dream’s immigrant youth-led mission • Exceptional teamwork, flexibility, respect, collaboration, and nimbleness • Ability to build trust and leadership among diverse staff and partner organizations across identities • Strong understanding of the immigrant experience; lived experience as an undocumented person, immigrant, or immigrant family preferred • Understanding of race, gender, sexuality, identity intersections, white supremacy, and anti-Blackness • Experience building relationships across race, gender, class, and other identities • Anti-racist approach • Experience working in communities of color and/or building multiracial organizing efforts • Knowledge of immigrants’ rights policy and organizing landscape preferred • Multilingual communication skills a plus, but not required • Applicants working in the Eastern Time Zone preferred, but not required
