📋 Description

• Own the architecture of the edge runtime, including process model, camera pipeline, inference scheduling, and resource budgets • Design and maintain the edge-to-cloud communication layer, including reconnection, buffering, and degraded-network behavior • Own the control interface between inspection results and the PLC, including timing and determinism requirements • Drive throughput, latency, and memory performance against real multi-camera production loads • Simplify and consolidate the edge codebase and set standards for its structure and testing • Act as a technical resource for edge and systems design decisions across the product • Partner with DevOps on provisioning, updates, and rollback for edge devices in the field • Report to the Director, Software Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience • Legal authorization to work in the US is required • Employer will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening • Typically requires 8+ years of related experience in a software product development environment (preferred) • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred) • Experience architecting and shipping systems software that runs on constrained or embedded targets • Experience owning performance and reliability for a real-time or near-real-time system • Depth in C++, Rust, Go, or Python for systems-level work on Linux • Experience with containerized or immutable Linux deployments on edge hardware • Experience with camera, sensor, or other high-rate device interfaces and pipelines • Experience with industrial control interfaces such as PLC, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, or equivalent fieldbus protocols • Experience with edge-to-cloud messaging patterns and behavior under intermittent connectivity • Track record simplifying an inherited codebase and measurably improving its performance
