📋 Description

• Lead the direction and day-to-day execution of RSG’s finance and accounting functions • Advise the CEO and Executive Team • Lead and develop the finance team • Develop financial plans, policies, and priorities with the Executive Team • Maintain financial and accounting policies and procedures • Establish and manage banking partnerships • Maintain controls over financial and accounting functions • Oversee accounts, ledgers, reporting systems, and compliance with GAAP, FAR, AASHTO audit guidance, and applicable state DOT requirements • Manage accounts receivable and payable, budgets, expenditures, banking, investments, and cash flow • Lead project and financial accounting system data and reporting capabilities • Partner with HR to administer the 401(k) plan, ESOP, and payroll processes • Drive operational efficiency and automation of accounting processes • Communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements • Prepare and present financial information to the Board • Produce and interpret financial analysis, risks, variances, and recommended actions • Support outside auditors and coordinate annual tax reporting, audits, and overhead statement preparation • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning • Monitor project variance and implement controls to improve project financial performance • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts for company performance, cash flow, ESOP valuation, trust funding, and other business needs • Support financial strategy for government and private-sector markets, including pricing, profitability, contract economics, new business opportunities, and revenue diversification • Evaluate and commercialize productized services, technology-enabled offerings, and recurring revenue models • Lead continuous improvement of financial dashboards and business intelligence reporting using Microsoft Power BI and related tools • Promote responsible use of automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tools • Monitor debt covenants and multi-state government filing, tax reporting, and payment requirements • Maintain government contracting compliance • Manage and partner on financial, overhead, 401(k), and ESOP audits

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field • 10+ years of relevant experience • 5+ years of financial/accounting experience as a Director or Vice President within the government consulting industry • 10+ years of detailed cost accounting experience • Demonstrated success in a hands-on leadership position requiring both team management and direct execution of financial and accounting work • Expert knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and DCAA requirements • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to prepare, organize, analyze, interpret, and communicate detailed financial data and actionable business insights • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts for individuals at all levels, including finance and non-finance managers • Applied knowledge and experience with project and financial accounting systems • Familiarity with practical applications of financial automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tools, including appropriate attention to data privacy, security, accuracy, and governance • Ability to travel as needed • RSG is not currently accepting H-1B applicants for this position • Experience supporting private-sector commercial work, productized or technology-enabled services, recurring revenue models, or other scalable offerings is preferred • Master’s degree in business or finance, CPA, and Deltek Vantagepoint experience are preferred • Deltek Vantagepoint experience is preferred • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred
