It serves patients directly and partners with employers, health plans, and health systems, and emphasizes clinical standards, provider reviews, and ongoing professional development.

📋 Description

• Join Rula’s Patient Onboarding team, which owns the journey from first interaction through registration, insurance verification, and starting care • Write production code as a hands-on technical leader • Lead complex initiatives across product areas • Improve the technical foundations the team builds on • Provide strong technical direction and help engineers move faster through modern AI-enabled development practices • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Analytics • Own what the team builds and how it builds it • Improve a critical part of Rula’s patient experience • Shape systems and engineering practices that help connect more people to mental healthcare

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Staff-level scope or leading complex initiatives across multiple teams or systems • Strong full-stack engineering experience building and maintaining production web applications • Depth in modern frontend frameworks, backend APIs, data modeling, and distributed systems • Experience leading technically complex projects from problem definition through design, implementation, launch, and production support • Experience with high-impact user journeys such as onboarding, checkout, registration, eligibility, payments, marketplaces, or other conversion-critical workflows • Experience influencing technical direction across functions or teams and driving alignment with Product, Design, Data, or engineering teams • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as Claude Code in regular engineering workflows • Preferred: experience building AI-powered engineering workflows, tooling, or automation adopted by others and measurably improving development speed or quality • Preferred: experience in healthcare, insurance, fintech, or another regulated domain • Preferred: experience using product, operational, or funnel data to identify technical opportunities and evaluate engineering investments • Preferred: ability to improve engineering leverage through tooling, documentation, shared architecture, or reducing concentrated system knowledge • Must be based in the United States; currently not hiring in Hawaii
