📋 Description

• Set and execute Sage Bionetworks’ cybersecurity strategy and roadmap • Lead the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of security controls • Oversee security monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management, security testing, incident investigation and response, and remediation • Establish secure configuration, automation, monitoring, testing, and repeatable operational processes • Partner with product and engineering teams on security risks and controls for platforms, infrastructure, and software development • Maintain technical security standards, procedures, documentation, and operational evidence • Partner with security compliance on framework requirements, technical implementations, assessments, and audits • Evaluate and manage security technologies, services, cloud vendors, and critical technology vendors • Lead day-to-day IT operations and employee technology services • Oversee identity and access management, endpoint and asset management, SaaS administration, licensing, and technology vendors • Own implementation, maintenance, and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities for critical IT systems • Oversee help desk operations and employee technology support • Advise executive leadership and the Board on cybersecurity threats, technical risks, incidents, capabilities, and investments • Build, lead, and develop cybersecurity and IT teams • Establish accountability across security operations, engineering, vulnerability management, incident response, IAM, and IT operations • Travel twice per year for on-site events in Seattle, Washington

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience • 8+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, security operations, infrastructure security, or related disciplines, including significant security leadership responsibility • Experience leading teams responsible for implementing and operating security controls in production technology environments • Strong working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FISMA/RMF, FedRAMP, or comparable frameworks • Experience with vulnerability management, security monitoring and detection, incident response, identity and access management, endpoint security, cloud security, and security testing • Experience establishing processes for identifying, prioritizing, tracking, and remediating security vulnerabilities and findings • Experience responding to and investigating cybersecurity incidents • Ability to communicate cybersecurity risk and technical trade-offs to non-technical executives and a Board • Experience partnering with security compliance, risk, audit, or governance teams • Experience leading IT operations, including employee technology services, identity and access management, endpoint management, and enterprise SaaS administration • Experience operating effectively in a lean, mission-driven nonprofit, research, or similarly complex environment • Ability to work effectively under deadlines; strong problem-solving, analytical, attention-to-detail, adaptability, and multitasking skills • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Required cover letter must not be a resume upload
