📋 Description

• Lead a nimble, high-impact data team of three, including data engineers and analysts, while setting the technical bar and contributing directly to the hardest problems • Own the entire data pipeline from warehouse to internal dashboards to external reporting, ensuring consistency and reliability across the data stack • Drive technical recommendations behind data infrastructure decisions and vendor selections in partnership with the CTO • Build structured, repeatable insurance reporting processes with the Risk team, including actuarial and bordereau reports • Consolidate siloed analysis across the organization by creating unified reporting standards and data accessibility • Enable self-service analytics capabilities while maintaining data governance and quality standards • Collaborate with the CTO and cross-functional teams to own the data roadmap and align it with business objectives and the broader technical roadmap • Report directly to the CTO • Split time approximately 60% hands-on engineering and 40% leading

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience with the full data stack, including data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery • Experience with dbt • Experience with ETL tools such as Fivetran, Stitch, or Airflow • Experience with BI platforms such as Tableau or Looker • 6+ years building and owning production data pipelines • Experience leading a small data team as a player-coach in a high-velocity environment • Background in fintech or insurtech • Experience maintaining financial product reporting, such as actuarial reports or loan tapes • Experience managing and mentoring data engineers and analysts while contributing meaningful individual contributor work • Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet organizational data needs
