• Handle regional losses or claims unassisted up to $10M • Address complex adjustment issues involving damages and coverage • Assist on larger losses and manage smaller, non-complex National Accounts • Examine claim forms and records to determine insurance coverage • Administer and reconcile complex catastrophic property claims • Interview, telephone, or correspond with claimants and witnesses • Consult police and hospital records and inspect property damage • Estimate repair, replacement, or compensation costs • Prepare findings reports and negotiate settlements • Recommend litigation when settlements cannot be negotiated and attend litigation hearings • Revise case reserves to cover probable costs • Prepare loss experience reports and calculate adequate future rates • Interact with excess carriers to determine coverage, insurance levels, and potential reimbursements • Travel as required and perform other assigned duties
• IIA-AIC designation required and active pursuit of another professional insurance designation • Appropriate state adjuster license required • Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred • Strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills • PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products • Strong customer service skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Good time management and organizational skills • Ability to work independently or in a team environment • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies • Ability to handle work-related stress and multiple priorities simultaneously • Ability to meet deadlines • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods • Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb, crawl, stoop, reach/work overhead • Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds • Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds • Ability to drive up to 4 hours per day • Continual use of manual dexterity • Hearing, vision, and talking abilities
