• Interface with HVAC and clean energy customers as part of the FAE Americas group • Utilize engineering principles and practices in product design, development, analysis, and release throughout the product life cycle • Act as a key customer interface for technical problem solving • Support existing customers on new product development projects • Communicate business and technical information between customers and Sensata • Develop and maintain technical understanding of Sensata products and competitor offerings • Participate in failure analysis examinations and prepare Failure Analysis Reports • Ensure projects meet customer requirements and quality standards • Create design failure modes and effects analyses • Perform engineering analyses and review product specifications • Use computer-aided engineering applications to apply conditions, replicate performance, and evaluate manufacturability • Develop and refine standard product configurations • Provide onsite technical assistance to sales at industry trade shows and customer demonstrations • Negotiate technical specifications • Respond to requests for proposals and assist with quotations for standard and custom products • Establish and maintain relationships with existing customers and customer engineering contacts • Advise on technical problem resolutions in customer interface meetings and through the technical support team • Lead technical engagement with customers focused on industrial products • Provide technical problem resolution and product training to distributors • Travel to customer sites for technical presentations and sales support
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control fundamentals and product test processes • Familiarity with manufacturing methods – welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding and forming • Basic knowledge of core manufacturing processes including calibration, final function transfer, leak testing, welding/soldering, adhesive and gel dispensing • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) • Experience with customer interaction face to face, on calls and presentations • Familiarity with Insulation Monitoring Devices, Refrigerant Leak Detection Sensors, and Circuit Breakers is a plus • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment • Ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills • Strong organization, planning and time management skills • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity • Accountability for achieving goals and standards • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Ability to travel to customer sites for technical presentations and sales support; travel 35%–40% • Strong preference for candidates based in the East Coast or Midwest regions
