📋 Description

• Perform third-party audits according to SGS Certification procedures and applicable standards including FSSC 22000, SQF, and BRC • Collect and analyze sufficient information to provide certification recommendations • Perform certification audits in conformance with SGS global/local procedures and sector-specific schemes and standards • Determine, based on audit evidence, whether registration should be recommended or allowed to continue • Assimilate, understand, and operate the SGS Certification System in all auditing activities • Collaborate with audit teams during auditing activities • Provide customers with sufficient audit experience to cover SGS’s accredited certification activities • Assist in training other Auditors and Senior Auditors during planned audits or other training functions • Participate in witness audits by SGS or accreditation bodies • Maintain all audit-related credentials • Undertake other activities as directed by the Manager, Certification Audit or Manager, Technical Accreditation • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years in Quality, Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) or production • Successful completion of Lead Auditor training (minimum 3 days) based on ISO 19011 • HACCP training (minimum 2 days) • Minimum 2 hours each of food fraud and food defense training, or PCQI human food training • Scheme-specific training, such as BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 training, including a minimum 2-day auditor course • Strong background and knowledge of technical applications of the standards • Advanced proficiency in English and either Spanish or French is highly preferred • Basic mathematical skills • Basic reasoning skills and abilities • Excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills • Proactive attitude and excellent organizational skills • Ability to react effectively in stressful situations and make clear, well-founded conformity decisions during audits • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects while delivering results on time • Ability to act with integrity, tact, and character • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time by automobile or airplane, including possible international travel and weekend travel
