📋 Description

• Develop and carry out Sierra Club policies, priorities, and objectives in Oregon • Partner with the volunteer Executive Committee and staff on programmatic and operational work • Lead Chapter fundraising, create annual fundraising goals and plans, track progress, develop donor relationships, and solicit high net worth individuals • Lead staff in assigned operational or program areas and manage represented and non-represented state-based staff • Review staff performance and time reports and ensure compliance with employment policies and practices • Recruit and develop volunteer teams and oversee volunteer leadership pathways • Oversee strategic organizing plans to engage members and volunteers • Facilitate and prioritize short- and long-term strategic, programmatic, and financial planning • Coordinate organizational effectiveness with the Executive Committee and Deputy Regional Field Director • Oversee media, public relations, and digital strategy • Build relationships with aligned organizations, community leaders, coalitions, elected officials, and governmental agencies • Attend Chapter and regional coordination meetings and oversee Chapter Committees and Issue Chairs • Develop budgets with the Executive Committee and Treasurer and track financial performance • Oversee Chapter and legal compliance • Represent the Chapter and Sierra Club to officials, media, business and community leaders, donors, allies, organizations, and the public • Perform evening and weekend work as often required

🎯 Requirements

• Fundraising experience, including donor relations and generating new revenue streams • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making, and reporting • Experience navigating multiple funding streams and complex budgets is a plus • Organizational conflict resolution experience and committed communication skills • Ability to design and implement strategic plans, communicate changes, build consensus, monitor transitions, and evaluate results • Experience in grassroots organizing, training, motivating volunteer teams, and coalition building • Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and proof of auto insurance required • Non-profit management and/or Board experience • Experience in energy, climate, and/or environmental policy • Knowledge of state and federal legislative processes • Experience working with media, elected officials, and lobbyists • Experience working with marginalized, underrepresented, or environmental justice communities • Excellent communication skills, media strategy, public speaking, storytelling, crowd engagement, and media spokesperson abilities • Experience building and maintaining relationships with legislators and regulators • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Google Suite, Salesforce, VAN, Hustle, and similar tools
