📋 Description

• Process and review multi-state payrolls on a regular cycle (weekly, bi-weekly, for US and weekly and semi-monthly for Canada). • Audit payroll data for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and timekeeping inputs. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. • Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger accounts, and benefit deductions. • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and system issues. • Maintain and update employee payroll records in the HRIS/payroll system (e.g., UKG, Oracle, ADP). • Prepare and analyze payroll reports for internal stakeholders, Finance, and auditors. • Support year-end activities, including W-2 processing and audits. • Assist with payroll system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements. • Collaborate with HR on changes related to compensation, benefits, and employee status. • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to internal controls and audit requirements. • Processes payroll distribution, direct deposits, retroactive payments, voluntary payroll deductions, and identifies and researches exceptions. • Researches, analyzes, and resolves payroll related issues or questions from employees and other internal staff. • Receives and responds to pay related inquiries and collects emails from multiple locations that time sheets are ready to pull from time management system for processing. • Makes adjustments to amounts paid including overtime, vacation, sick, bonuses, garnishments, short-term disability; and maintains garnishments in payroll database. • Responds to queries from garnishment agencies and issues and records adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases. • Compiles statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and submits them to appropriate departments.

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of payroll processing experience. Experience with HR Information Management systems required: HR Cloud systems such as UKG (Pro & WFM), Oracle Fusion, Workday, or PeopleSoft preferred. • Experience in processing multi-state payrolls. Knowledge in payroll laws and understanding of federal, state, and local taxes.
