📋 Description

• Understand problem spaces, identify opportunities, and develop solutions using a lean-agile approach • Advocate for users and conduct continuous research throughout the product life cycle • Work end-to-end from concept to implementation • Conduct research and facilitate design activities • Define end-to-end flows incorporating information architecture, systems thinking, design principles, and common design patterns • Create user interfaces in Figma and evolve existing visual systems with clear rationale • Work with product managers, engineers, researchers, and government partners to shape product strategy for new capabilities • Find creative ways to reach users where access is limited and communicate findings to the team and client • Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research • Uphold human-centered design principles and help the client become more customer-centric during agile transformation • Learn the client’s domain and organization and enable government partners during the first 30 days • Potentially support user research and bring a product mindset to strategy conversations

🎯 Requirements

• Can define scalable, end-to-end interaction flows incorporating key design principles, intentional information architectures, common design patterns, and accessibility • Can create simple, elegant, and thoughtful user interfaces using visual design elements such as branding, illustration, iconography, typography, or microinteractions • Understands different design processes (e.g., double diamond) and can produce documentation for storytelling that helps teams and stakeholders empathize with users • Able to plan, synthesize, and share generative and evaluative user research • Can contribute to product strategy decisions using lean/agile methodologies and user-centered prioritization • Can facilitate and communicate design rationale effectively to users, teammates, and stakeholders • Ability to demonstrate product design leadership • Experience working on cross-functional teams in iterative delivery • Ability to coach and enable government partners on human-centered design principles • Portfolio of 1–2 work samples • All work must be conducted within the U.S., excluding U.S. territories • U.S. citizenship required for employment eligibility • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC), including a government background check • Must successfully complete a company background check • Some available federal-contract roles require a degree or additional years of experience as a substitute
