📋 Description

• Own the automation estimating discipline for mission-critical hyperscale and colocation data-center projects from 10 MW to 200 MW • Lead the full proposal lifecycle, including reviewing RFPs, analyzing scope, building detailed cost models, and developing winning strategies • Dissect RFPs, drawings, and specifications for BAS, PLC, DDC, SCADA, EPMS, DCIM, and OT network scope • Produce labor and material take-offs, apply regional labor indices, and build bottom-up cost models • Drive value-engineering options that maintain Uptime Tier targets while reducing capital and operating expenditure • Implement and manage estimating, bid-management, and budgeting tools and databases • Develop Power BI dashboards for margin and estimating-accuracy tracking • Pilot AI-assisted workflows and improve preconstruction processes • Issue RFQs, analyze bids, negotiate terms and conditions, and maintain vendor pricing agreements • Lead estimate review calls with hyperscale owner teams and defend cost drivers, productivity factors, and contingency rationale • Support business development by converting conceptual budgets into executable contracts • Coach junior estimators and interns and author estimating SOPs and playbooks • Publish weekly and monthly KPI reports • Coordinate the transition from estimation to project execution and provide handover documentation • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related discipline • Minimum of 8 years’ estimating experience for a systems integrator in industrial automation or the mission-critical industry • Lead estimator on at least five mission-critical projects of 40 MW or greater awarded to your company • Advanced working knowledge of PLC platforms including Rockwell ControlLogix and Schneider M580 • Advanced working knowledge of DDC hardware including Distech and Honeywell • Advanced working knowledge of SCADA/Historian software including Ignition, AVEVA, and Tridium Niagara4 • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical integration • Experience with bid-management platforms such as BuildingConnected and Procore • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Power BI for reporting and KPI analysis • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, UL 508A, ISA 88/95, ISA/IEC 62443, and Uptime Institute Tier Guidelines • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and commercial skills • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows • Ability to analyze market trends and apply cost data effectively • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, partners, and internal teams • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment with effective communication, organization, self-motivation, and a distraction-free workspace • Ability to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team • Ability to plan and delegate the work of others and manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Certifications such as ASPE CPE, AACE International CCP, PMI PMP, and LEED GA are preferred • Up to 10% travel, potentially to any or all 50 U.S. states • Valid REAL ID or acceptable alternative such as a passport required for business air travel beginning May 7, 2025
