• Support the SPA team remotely and onboard the USNS WATERS • Help manage the USNS WATERS, a weapons and navigation test ship supporting the Navy's Strategic Systems Programs • Review technical specifications for equipment and vessel repairs and modifications • Ensure compliance with industry standards • Implement best practices across the enterprise • Communicate with sponsor program managers, Military Sealift Command Port Engineers, and contractors • Ensure work items are executed efficiently and safely • Travel routinely to the ship's location in Port Canaveral, Florida, and elsewhere in the United States for shipyard repair
• Part-time Marine Engineer, Naval Architect, or Engineer in a related field • Ability to travel to and work at Port Canaveral, Florida, and other CONUS locations • U.S. Citizen • DoD SECRET clearance or higher, or ability to obtain and maintain clearance • Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, related field, or equivalent work experience in vessel operations and repair • Minimum five years of experience in a similar role within the maritime industry • Knowledge of the latest maritime regulations and compliance standards • Experience reviewing and approving technical specifications for vessel repairs and modifications • Ability to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices • Desired: Experience working on vessels as Chief Engineer or Port Engineer • Desired: Experience troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems related to marine operations • Desired: Experience writing Military Sealift Command (MSC) work items
