• Meet and exceed sales objectives in assigned markets by promoting and selling airport advertising • Develop relationships with local businesses, acquire new advertisers, and maintain existing accounts • Prospect new clients, make sales presentations, negotiate rates, close deals, and provide post-sale customer service • Travel directly to customers and prospects to develop and maintain relationships • Present products to existing and potential customers and help select products suited to their needs • Identify potential growth areas and open new accounts • Establish, develop, and maintain customer and prospective customer relationships to generate daily new business • Maintain and grow a personal account list through telephone calls, in-person visits, and presentations • Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue objectives • Research prospective customers and assess their potential • Develop written proposals and quotations • Resolve customer problems and complaints • Coordinate sales efforts with marketing, sales management, administrative, and operations groups • Share a pipeline report with the Manager weekly • Plan and organize personal sales strategy to maximize return on time investment • Provide management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential new products and services • Stay current on product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and advertising trends • Build and maintain positive relationships with Airport Authority staff through regular calls and meetings • Respond promptly and professionally to Airport Authority staff • Notify Airport Fulfillment Team, Airport Services, and National Sales of inventory location changes or adjustments • Liaise with the Airport Office Manager and Airport Billing team regarding monthly airport revenue reporting • Respond to National Sales and National Account Services Manager requests within established guidelines • Monitor National campaign end dates and provide renewal opportunities • Inform National Sales of upcoming market events and opportunities • Provide local oversight to administrative and operational employees • Coordinate delivery of products and services by scheduled deadlines, including collections
• Excellent written, verbal and listening skills • Ability to speak one-to-one using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and persuade others • Ability to make oral presentations • Skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds • General knowledge of local and national media trends, including companies outside of Lamar • Ability to explain the outdoor advertising business to customers and account executives from installation and product standpoints • Ability to work independently and follow through with minimal direction • Ability to work under general direction and resolve most conflicts independently • Ability to initiate projects and assignments • Ability to analyze information, problems, or situations, identify concerns and patterns, and formulate logical conclusions • High School Diploma or Equivalent required • Valid Driver’s License required • 2-3 years of successful business-to-business sales experience required • Bachelor’s degree in any field preferred • Advertising/media sales experience preferred • Proven relationships with area clients and established track record of selling to local and direct clients preferred • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship required • Completion of an 8-15 minute personality assessment during application
