📋 Description

• Own and manage core functions for improving lifecycle cost through various channels • Work in the Preconstruction department with the Director of Preconstruction • Develop a historical cost database and reporting dashboards for key KPIs • Coordinate implementation of a Global Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) • Develop and implement cost-fidelity strategies in preconstruction • Review portfolio-level budgets and provide detailed cost reports to project stakeholders • Lead cost-saving initiatives across all project lifecycle phases • Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop cost-saving ideas • Lead R&D efforts for a cost- and schedule-first approach to product development • Drive stakeholder decision-making on cost-saving ideas • Analyze cost data and trends to develop cost-reduction strategies while maintaining quality • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to negotiate favorable terms and pricing • Monitor and report on cost-reduction effectiveness and adjust strategies • Develop cost-certainty strategies to mitigate budget-overrun and unforeseen-expense risks • Establish and maintain contingency plans for cost uncertainties • Work with general contractors to lock in costs earlier in the development process

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in construction, business, or a technical discipline, or commensurate work experience • 10+ years of prior experience in Preconstruction • Proven experience in cost management, preconstruction, or a related role within the construction or infrastructure industry • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities • Detail-oriented • Strong analytical and creative-thinking skills • Ability to execute, process, and prioritize tasks with minimal-to-no supervision • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal staff, external consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite, Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, and industry-standard estimating and scheduling software • Must be eligible to work in the United States • Must pass comprehensive background screening • 10–20% travel
