📋 Description

• Manage and develop a team of Applications Engineers across the territory • Own capacity planning and workload distribution • Set technical and cultural standards for the team • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance conversations, and development planning • Own the applications engineering function from pre-sales POC support through post-install customer success • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex integrations, difficult customer situations, and problematic installs • Partner with the Regional Sales Manager on territory priorities, pipeline, and customer strategy • Maintain relationships with key customer accounts • Design solutions, review integrations, commission cells, and support installs • Lead or co-lead technically complex or strategically important customer engagements • Review and sign off on solution designs, POCs, and integration plans • Travel to customer sites for escalations, key installs, and customer relationships • Define and enforce standards for documentation, handoffs, commissioning checklists, and customer training • Feed territory-level learnings to applications engineering, product, and engineering teams • Help build playbooks, templates, and training materials

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency across mechanical, electrical, and software domains • Proficiency with PLC programming and ladder logic • Knowledge of pneumatics and DC power systems • Robot programming experience • Python scripting experience • CAD proficiency • 5+ years of hands-on applications engineering, systems integration, or automation engineering experience • 2+ years of people management or team lead experience • Strong customer-facing presence • Experience managing a distributed team or territory • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience • Collaborative robot experience with UR, Fanuc, KUKA, ABB, or similar preferred • Experience scaling an applications engineering or field engineering function preferred • Experience with vision systems, force/torque sensing, or custom end-of-arm tooling preferred • Familiarity with machine tending, palletizing, welding, or assembly automation applications preferred • Must live on the West Coast • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. or not require visa sponsorship/transfer
