📋 Description

• Work with the sales team and customers to understand automation goals, production constraints, and integration requirements • Design practical, buildable solutions around Standard Bots' hardware and build proofs of concept • Develop application notes, sample code, and supporting documentation • Travel to customer sites to install, program, wire, and commission robotic cells • Own integrations from mechanical setup through software configuration, including fixtures, I/O, PLC handshakes, safety, testing, and sign-off • Troubleshoot on-site issues until systems work • Train customer operators and technicians on Standard Bots hardware and software • Support customers post-installation and serve as a trusted technical resource • Represent Standard Bots at industry events and trade shows, building and running live demos • Develop and maintain demonstration systems • Feed integration learnings back to hardware and software engineering teams • Assist engineering with testing new features, peripherals, and integrations

🎯 Requirements

• Comfortable with mechanical systems, electrical systems, and software • 6+ years of hands-on experience with industrial automation fundamentals • Experience with PLC programming and ladder logic • Knowledge of pneumatics • Knowledge of DC power systems, including NPN and PNP • Robot programming experience on any platform • Python scripting experience • Proficiency with CAD; SolidWorks preferred • Customer-facing experience explaining technical integrations to engineers, plant managers, and operations directors • Bias for hands-on field work and building solutions • Comfort with up to 50% domestic travel • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience • Prior experience with collaborative robots such as UR, Fanuc, KUKA, or ABB is nice to have • Familiarity with machine tending, palletizing, welding, or assembly automation applications is nice to have • Experience with vision systems, force/torque sensing, or custom end-of-arm tooling is nice to have • Manufacturing or production environment background is nice to have
