📋 Description

• Participate in developing data strategy supporting business and organizational objectives • Provide expert guidance on data management, data integration, pipeline process architecture, reporting and visualization, and data warehousing • Lead the design and implementation of harmonized data models and database solutions • Implement and monitor data governance strategy aligned with organizational, regulatory, and standards requirements • Develop secure data-sharing solutions with domain experts and IT staff • Evaluate operational processes, research needs, and data systems to identify database structural requirements • Research new technologies and tools that add value to services and data management • Mentor junior team members in data management systems and practices • Investigate and troubleshoot complex data integration issues • Monitor and improve database and data-ingest pipeline performance across on-premises and cloud-based systems • Lead end-to-end analytics development projects, including dashboard design, deployment, advanced visualization, automated reporting, coding, testing, debugging, file maintenance, and documentation • Provide technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, project management, documentation, deployment, and operational support for complex projects • Ensure solutions meet functional, technical, governance, security, compliance, and architectural requirements • Maintain regular and predictable attendance • Perform other duties assigned to meet department and institutional objectives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field required • 5+ progressive years of IT experience, including strong database design, data architecture, and data transform processes • Experience in data architecture and design • Experience implementing a data governance framework • Experience with leading industrial tools for data lake, big data, or ETL • Experience with enterprise reporting tools • Experience creating dashboards using data visualization tools such as PBI, Tableau, or Qlik • Experience with data warehousing applications and source control systems such as Epic or Workday • Experience or knowledge in Master Data Management and Data Dictionary Standards • Experience with applicable regulatory requirements and standards • Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship within Data Engineering • Proven performance in an earlier or comparable role • Ability to think critically, draw insights, connect data points, and solve complex problems independently • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences and influence stakeholders • Knowledge of data management and analytics systems, processes, tools, and methodologies • Advanced database, data integration, data harmonization, and institutional master data management skills • Licensure, registration, or certification: None required • Master's degree preferred • Experience with Epic, common data models such as I2B2/OMOP/PCORnet, AI/GenAI solutions, or enterprise platforms such as Microsoft, ServiceNow, or Workday preferred
