📋 Description

• Teach online courses and residencies • Mentor doctoral learners and chair or serve on doctoral committees • Facilitate interactive dissertation and doctoral capstone course rooms • Use course data and feedback to improve teaching and learner experience • Contribute to curriculum and course development, including plans, objectives, outcomes, teaching aids, and assessments • Ensure sensitivity, diversity, and inclusiveness in curriculum and course materials • Participate in school and university governance through committees • Provide peer mentorship and guidance to faculty members • Contribute professional knowledge and skills to learners, the institution, profession, and community • Maintain scholarly expertise through writing, speaking, research, conference attendance, and presentations • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, commencement, residencies, webinars, orientation, mentoring, course revisions, and other university needs • Support accreditation, program development, advising, learner management, research, and partnership efforts as assigned • Monitor learner progress, provide formative and summative feedback, and refer learners to additional resources • Take on leadership roles and challenging projects supporting learner success

🎯 Requirements

• Two or more years teaching in higher education and in an online setting required • Experience teaching biology or life sciences required • Experience teaching in higher education required • Experience writing curriculum required • Evidence of supporting learner success and commitment to quality teaching outcomes required • Ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community required • Experience with scholarly writing and use of APA 6th edition required • Doctorate in related field required • Doctorate or Master’s degree in biology (Life Sciences) or related field such as microbiology or human anatomy required • Experience mentoring doctoral students preferred • Membership/affiliation in an educational leadership organization preferred • Commitment to service and practice in educational leadership preferred • Experience with leadership through team engagement preferred • Experience presenting at professional conferences preferred • Must be able to travel occasionally if business needs arise • Faculty roles require a remote work setting with a computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, and video-conferencing capability • Must meet critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication requirements • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant • Able to access information using a computer
