📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on students’ individual IEP needs • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding student therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Use assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text to provide accommodations and modifications • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEPs • Ensure inclusion and student success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor IEP progress • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain a grade book and make placement and promotion decisions • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive rapport with families and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to support student outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• Michigan Teaching Certification required • Special Education endorsement required • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Residency in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C. • Out-of-state residents must have a Michigan teaching certification • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction • Ability to work school-defined hours, typically 9–5 or 8–4 • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Ability to collaborate with teachers and interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to adapt to change and coaching • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills
