📋 Description

• Promote student success through a comprehensive school counseling program • Guide learners in academic success, social and emotional development, and career and college planning • Help students plan postsecondary options and apply academic achievement strategies • Support students in managing emotions and applying interpersonal skills • Focus students and families on college and career readiness • Meet quarterly with all students on the caseload to review graduation plans and postsecondary options • Deliver classroom instruction based on student success standards • Review transcripts and academic documentation • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop four-year graduation plans • Audit student schedules for graduation candidacy • Assist with course placement, including AP and pathway recommendations • Analyze student data and develop data-driven intervention action plans • Provide short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support • Support teachers, staff, and parents • Support standardized testing, parent education, and staff development • Advocate for students at IEP and other student-focused meetings • Improve equity, access, achievement, and opportunities for all students • Travel for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other school requirements as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Active School Counselor certificate • Bachelor's degree • Three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement • School Counselor License • Ability to clear required background check • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems • Flexible schedule; ability to travel as needed • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Experience with distance learning • Master’s degree in school counseling • Advanced coursework in counseling and administration • Residents of Texas strongly preferred; residents of surrounding states may be considered • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
