📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment for High School CTE Principles of Arts, A/V Tech and Communications • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process and addressing individual student needs • Monitor student progress through K12’s learning management system • Work with students and parents to advance learning and develop and monitor post-secondary success plans using online tools • Apply K12 curriculum and online school knowledge to the assigned grade and subject • Maintain and apply knowledge of state, Common Core, and industry-specific learning standards • Support students and parents with placement, online school setup, curriculum, and instructional issues • Develop instructional tools and strategies to supplement and enhance curriculum • Contact students regularly by email or phone and respond to inquiries within the appropriate timeframe • Participate in weekly teacher conference calls and scheduled face-to-face and virtual staff meetings • Maintain student academic progress records and generate formal reports • Alert administrators to concerns about student progress and attendance • Process student placement changes and complete semester and end-of-year progress reports • Organize orientation, training, social, and educational activities for students and families • Create a monthly newsletter or update the website • Travel to assigned geographic areas and participate in open houses, expos, information sessions, and orientations • Lead student and parent orientations • Prepare students for state assessments, proctor site-based exams, administer state assessments, and assess students according to policy • Perform other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of successful teacher experience within the virtual setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Certificates and Licenses: Industrial Art, Technology, OR Trade and Industrial Education • Texas residency requirement • Ability to clear required background check(s) • Shared view of the virtual academy’s mission • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge • Ability to support and guide adults as well as students • Knowledge of databases utilized by K12 • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Organization and time-management skills • Microsoft Office 365 and web proficiency • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school • Experience as an online learner, project-based learning, and student information systems/database experience are desired qualifications • Ability to support adults with basic computer setup and navigation is desired
